Toukley - 11/5 [16 May 2005|05:29pm]

I decided to go at about 7pm after getting a call from a friend who was already up there.
It was well worth the trip.
We arrived as in the grey were playing (WOOHOO) So got food and had a couple of words to Luke, I asked what had happened to the red lanterns, he said they gave them away at the end of the last tour becuase this was a new phase and they were trying something new.

Most frustrating part of the night was when the crowd went quite I yelled out "101" and Lucius started to play the opening bars to it, then he stopped... It is the cruelest thing that has been done to me in a while..... Bastard.

Anyway, the rest of the gig was pretty bloody good, not as good as the Cambridge but it was a small venue and it filled up really well. It was also nice that there weren't to many fucktards making whirlpools and shit like that.

Oh and Dan, if you're going to buy a skater, get a cog deck ($80). They're pretty good quality decks and the decal on them is awesome. They had them at the gig and I was thinking of getting one, then I remembered that I no longer skate...

"Now tell me Winston, and remember, no lies, what are your true feelings towards big brother?"
:I hate him"

Watch this Flash!
The images are graphic but this is what Life is like for these poor dogs.
With the Governments hopeless knee jerk reaction that has been proven the world over to be ineffective at lowering the rate of Dog attacks all that will succeed if the NSW bill is passed is to faze out a beautiful breed and greatly sadden thousands of Families when they loose a member of their family.

I Urge ALL of you to watch this short video and COPY AND PASTE this email into a new document & pass it on to EVERYONE you know as I have done.
This in the end does not just affect the 5 certain breeds - They will find that their bans haven't worked and extend that - soon you will find your dog on the chopping block also

The *American Temperament Test Society* http://www.atts.org/ provides temperament testing around the country for dog breeds, and gives a passing score for the entire breed based on the percentage of passed over failed within total number of the particular breed tested. As of December 2003, the American Pit Bull Terrier has a current passing rate of 83.9%, and the American Staffordshire Terrier passes at 83.2%. In comparison, The Golden Retriever passing rate is 83.2%

* The APBT used to be known as a nanny dog as Children were left in it's care in the days of early America. This was because the dogs are so loyal & loving to their family and have very stable natures

*BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) Is not a new thing. It has been implemented in other parts of the world for over 20 years. In NO situation where BSL has been implemented has it been successful in lowering the rate of dog attacks.

Thursday at the Cambo- so packed...cool show. Opened with Doors (as with every other show) they played the same set each time, although I think the order was rearranged a few times.
The Metro. My god I can't believe it sold out before the thing even started. Shit man. Crazy. I don't think the metro has ever been that packed. Woonona BOGAN CENTRAL. grrrr. I got a drumstick and got it signed so that was cool.
Karnivool rocked muchly
In the grey were just as bad as always. And that's that

Out of interest does anyone thing the metro will sell out?

I'm more excited about this than when Begins Here was released!

Friends by the sea 15/1/05 [20 Jan 2005|03:14pm]

Went to friends by the sea last Saturday night at the Beach Road Hotel in Bondi.
Cog were supported by Katalyst, the dead rebels and some local DJ's.
It was a top gig, katalyst were really impressive, and cog were awesome.
Out of all of the cog gigs I've been to this one took the cake, the playlist wasn't terribly long but the sound was amazing! And they played moo which is always a good thing!

The band raised over $7000 for the Tsunami disaster that night.

For international release only?! [16 Nov 2004|04:32pm]

[ mood | dubious ]

Just looking at cog's site, It says they've finished the album and it should be released in march '05.
However, it also says that it's for international release only.
Call me nieve but does this mean we won't be getting it? I know this is highly unlikely but the seed of doubt has been sown....
It looks good with a few songs that I don't think they've played live! Although I've heard a few sound a bit commercial....
Can't wait for friday and saturday!!

Confusion [11 Nov 2004|12:25pm]

It has come to our attention that there has been some confusion as to the venue that The String Theory will be playing at next Thursday (18/11). When we said "The Empire of Annandale" some people have assumed we were talking about the Annandale Hotel. This is not the case. The String Theory will be playing at The Empire Hotel IN Annandale (the suburb), NOT the Annandale Hotel. These are 2 different venues. The String Theory apologise for any confusion caused.

Click here for updated flyerCollapse )

Once again, apologies for any more than single vision.
